BUG REPORTS

I think there should be a thread, where we can post any bugs that occur in the game. If you experience bugs with the game, please post them here to keep everything more organised.

I just experienced one, and I think I have to share it.

I have just captured Saint-Pierre as commanded by De Poincy, after I killed Levaseur and reported to him.
Strangely, many game crashes occured at that point and had to reload several times. after leaving saint-pierre and headed for the "Searching for true...

Pirate Heavy Frigate

So i just finished looking for treasure from a map i bought. Got the treasure, was attacked in the cave and town, the usual. The interesting part is when i go to sea. Attacked by a pirate fleet (gentlemen of fortune), it was a heavy frigate and a heavy galleon, while i've never seen a pirate heavy frigate before. Is there any other instances where we could fight pirate heavy frigates? I'm currently looking for as much (free) heavy frigates as i can for upgrading experiments.

Improved vessel parameters

In some settlements, the archipelago has a shipyard, the master of which can not only repair the ship, and to change it constructively, to improve the characteristics (color of the font characteristics will change to green ). Keep in mind : improving one characteristic, you have to sacrifice another....

Slaves

Slaves is a commodity neither buy nor sell in any colony, but it's the most profitable way to make money if you don't mind being a bad guy. Here are the pros and cons.
Pros:
-Price ranges from 275 to 400 per slave when sold to smugglers. Compare to other goods, it's decent.
-Easy to acquire since you can't buy slaves anywhere. To acquire slaves, either enslaving surrendered crews (damage to reputation) or board the smuggler's ships in Smuggler hunting quest (no damage to reputation).
-Slaves...

Save often! The game is buggy as hell

Personally, SD:TEHO is the buggiest game i've played. Even with the Steam patches. My advice is to save often and with different timelines and different slots. I know this is often mentioned, but in this particular game, it's really vital.

Ahoy fellow sailors

How do I pay Michel's debt? I got 1 million pesos already, but there isn't any option about paying it when i talk to him in prison...
I guess i should talk with that Phillipe the Pouncy guy but where do I find the jerk? (he's a real jerk and you guys know that)

Should i join France?

De Poincy offers you a light Frigate and asks you to join France (for a low low price of 10%). I said yes and the frigate seems ok, but i just wonder what my other option was? If i had said no do i still get the ship? Can i choose to join another nation or perhaps the Pirates...

I am guessing you are going to go and save your brother no matter what?

What did you choose?

Best rank 3 ship?

So, I've been playing this game for a while now in a rank 4 war schooner (18 guns, 103 men, ~1500 deadweight) and I'm pretty close to 65 navigation on my main character. This creates two questions:

One - Do I need a navigator with 65 navigation to operate my ship without penalty, or is one not required if my character has 65 navigation?

Two - What is the best tier 3 ship that finds a balance between cargo space, crew and guns?

Price of consumption

In the final fight i am unable to survive the explosion after boarding and killing Juan Consumption? Am i missing something.?

I have tried all the options in speech but they lead to the same thing the ship blowing up and taking my ship with it. I don't seem to be able to save Angelo or anything else.

Thanks for any help

Before i start i want to say that this is only my personal way of playing the introduction and that there might be other ways to do it. Also i could have missed possibilities or didn´t feel the need of playing them. Even my English isn´t perfect but i´m giving my best. So please feel free to correct my walkthrough whenever you want. Well then let’s start:

01. You should start with plundering all open houses in the city because the chests inside can...

Just thought I could post it here just in case:

If you go to any lighthouse, the chances are that there's a guy who lives there who will sell you random cargo at insane prices. No matter what your trading skill is, you should be able to make a pretty penny on it.

For example: I bought 111 units of ebony for 50 peso a piece and 217 leather for 10 peso a piece.

The lighthouse keepers of Guadeloupe and Santiago are a bit special as they can take an order for amulets for 15.000 pesos. For...

Ahoy mateys!

I searched through the forum and I couldn't find any info on the "The Caribbean in a nutshell" quest.
It is a quest you from Fadey. It's when your brother Michel proposes you go see Fadey as he might have some work for you.

First 2 missions were fairly easy.

You first have to deliver certain amount of gunpowder and bombs from Guadalupe to Port-au-Prince.

The second mission is when you have to deliver 15 cannons from Port-au-Prince to the French frigate close to...

Game difficulty level

Let's talk about difficulty level.

My experience so far: I started the game on Very High difficulty. Got to the rank 5. Was able to do most of the quests, except those governor quests that include sinking or capturing enemy ships (pirates, capturing a certain person from a ship etc.) I've noticed that this difficulty level is unplayable. I had around 150.000 pesos. I wasn't able to pay my crew. The navigator guy that I released from prison at the beginning of the game deserted after a...
